PHOTOS: Spring Blossoms At The Senior Prom

Music of the 1930s, 40s and 50s at Senior Center tonight.

 

Senior citizens will be donning fancy suits, tuxedos and gowns tonight as they make their way to the Senior Prom at the Senior Center tonight. A dedicated few spent Friday afternoon pulling together corsages and boutonnières and laying out decorations for the event.

The Ledyard High School Key Club is sponsoring the event and members plan to get dressed up, arrive with hors d'oeuvers and dance the night away.

Senior Center Director Carol Geiler said she expects 40 to 50 people to attend the event, which goes from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The prom will be have a DJ who will play music from the 1930s, 40s and 50s and the at the end of the evening, a prom king and queen will be crowned. Attendees will have the chance to nominate and vote for prom king and queen during the evening. 

Transportation is provided, Geiler said it's never too late to sign up for the dance.
