Legally, you do not have to allow the assessor to enter your home (fourth amendment). However, ifRead Morey ou don't, you run the risk of having your home assessed higher as he will estimate the value using your neighbor's homes as a guidestick....and you will not have the legal right to appeal the value.

Does the right to appeal apply if you are not home when the assessor evaluates your home? Does the Read Moreassessor provide prior notice of the anticipated date/time of the assessment?
