Osten receives Fire Fighters endorsement

UPFFA/IAFF supports Osten in 19th District State Senate bid

NORWICH—Cathy Osten received the endorsement today of the Uniformed Professional Fire Fighters Association of Connecticut (UPFFA). The UPFFA is part of the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) and represents more than 4,000 professional Fire Fighters across the state of Connecticut.

“I am honored to receive the Fire Fighters endorsement,” said Osten. “These men and women put their lives on the line every day. I hope I can represent them to the fullest as the next State Senator from the 19th district.”

Peter S. Carozza, Jr., President of the Uniformed Professional Fire Fighters Association said on Friday, “We believe that professionalism and leadership in the field of Public Safety is indispensable to the citizens of the State of Connecticut in the continuing debate on Homeland Security. We need strong voices in that debate. We believe Cathy Osten is that strong voice."

Paul Rapanault, UPFFA Director of Legislative Affairs said, "Cathy Osten is a hero for working families throughout this state. We are happy to endorse someone who fights for working men and women, day in and day out".

Cathy Osten is running for the 19th State Senate district, a seat currently held by retiring State Senator Edith Prague. She is a Vietnam-era veteran, retired from 21 years of service in the Connecticut Department of Corrections and is currently serving her third term as the First Selectman for the Town of Sprague.
