The Waterford boy's basketball team came out strong against Ledyard Friday night. Ledyard responded in the second half with a smothering defense that only allowed two Waterford baskets in the third period.
Once again, Ledyard's deep bench was too much to handle, scoring half of the teams 71 points. Ledyard's leading scorers were Mugsy Whipple with 15, and Darnay Gray, and Khary Childs with 10 each. Waterford scored 34 points.
Ledyard climbed to 8-0 in their division, 14-1 overall. Ledyard's next game is Tuesday night, away against Windham, who has only one loss in the same division.
If Ledyard wins, they will be the ECC Medium Division Champions for the first time in many years.
