The Ledyard Colonel Varsity Football team lost its first game of the season, away, against Windham HS. Windham marched up and down the field in the first half, scoring two touchdowns, versus one by Ledyards Adam Hildebrandt.
Windham opened the second half with another touchdown, on a long pass. John Rainey began connecting on passes and made one to Evan August in the end zone for their second TD. With two minutes left, Rainey booted an on-side kick that bounced off a Windham player, but then went out of bounds. Windam then ran out the clock on the Colonels with the score 21 to 14.
Ledyards next game is at home against NFA on Friday night.
