In a much hyped game against New London, Ledyard failed to cross the goal line in a low scoring defensive battle. The two 6-2 teams were scoreless at half time. Ledyard was able to move the ball, but had two key turn-overs. The Ledyard defense kept them in the game, but allowed a short pass into the end-zone, which ended up being all New London needed to win.
New London quarterback Ackee Barber sat out the first half as a result of a prior hip injury. He came into the game in the third quarter long enough to throw the winning touch down pass. The loss was a big one for Ledyard, which is no longer in the running for the ECC Medium Championship, as well as a slim chance of making the post season. Their next game is Thanksgiving day against a very tough Fitch team in Groton.
The New London game was Ledyard's Home Coming Game, which had pre-game ceremonies for the 19 graduating senior's, as well as the new inductee's to the Ledyard Football Hall of Fame.
