(Ledyard, CT) TheTwoCents.com, a website dedicated to television reviews, recaps, interviews and news has proudly announced the winners in their first annual TwoCentsTV Awards.
Nominees in categories such as Favorite Belly Laugh, Favorite King of Drama, Reality Show I Want to Compete On, Gotta Download and OMG I Gotta Tweet This were voted on by readers of TheTwoCents over the past few weeks.
Starting Monday, July 29th, winners were announced in the Comedy, Drama, Reality and “Extra” categories. (On the web: http://wp.me/PusZv-hyY)

Ledyard resident and TwoCents founder and member of the Broadcast Television Journalists Association, Keith Padin, explained what makes the TwoCents’ awards different. “I sit and watch the major award shows and I’m always curious why shows and stars that many consider their favorites, aren’t even nominated. So, we took it into our own hands and made our own awards. It seems to be something people are excited about – the voting was fast and furious and the winners are a really fun selection of fan favorites.”
Stars in Hollywood seem excited about it as well. Many of the winners submitted messages of thanks to the voters.

Mayim Bialik, winner of Favorite Funny Girl for her role on CBS’s The Big Bang Theory said: “Thank you so much for voting me your favorite "Funny Girl"! If you want my 'two cents,' this really is a nod to our amazing writers, who make me say all of the funny stuff I say! So thank you for the honor and I hope to keep being your "Funny Girl" for a long time.”
The theme of awarding shows that seem to be overlooked was mirrored in the thanks sent by Dan Tapster, Executive Producer of Discovery Channel’s MythBusters which won the “Fun To Watch” award in the Reality category: “We at team MythBusters are thrilled to be the recipients of a TwoCents TV award. We get many nominations for awards, but few wins - so we're stoked. For this to happen in our 10 year season is even better.”
On social media, the fans took to Twitter and Facebook to celebrate wins of favorites. The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus won the “Favorite Dramatic Sidekick” award. When Reedus mentioned it on Twitter he was re-tweeted over 500 times and favorited over 1,000 times.
Other winners include ABC’s Castle, FOX’s New Girl, ABC Family’s Switched at Birth’s Katie Leclerc, NBC’s The Voice, and FOX’s Gordon Ramsay.
Additional winners in the “Extra” categories, which include “Favorite TV Hangout”, “Best Binge Watching” and “Sad To Say Goodbye”, will be announced on August 1st.
