Daily Five: TODAY Is Ledyard Day At Dodd Stadium

Five things to know on Friday, June 22.

 

1. Today, there’s a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3pm and it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 92, according to the National Weather Service. Tonight, showers and thunderstorms likely and it’ll be cloudy, with a low around 67.

2. TODAY is Ledyard Day at Dodd Stadium. The Tigers play the Tri-City ValleyCats who are based in Troy, New York and are affiliates of the Houston Astros. Tickets to the game are $8 and is sponsored by the Ledyard Rotary Club, which wants to fill up the bleachers with Ledyard residents. Contact the or any Rotarian for your ticket now.

3. The Dog Scout Club is wondering if any LHS students would be interested in summer workshops with their dogs at the high school from approximately 9 a.m to 4 p.m. Students will need to register. If anyone is interested please leave a comment on the Ledyard Agriscience Facebook.

4. On this date in 1944, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the G.I. Bill, which was designed to compensate returning members of the armed services and Boston mobster Whitey Bulger was arrested on this day last year.
