Does Your Nonprofit Help Ledyard Women and Girls?

The Community Foundation is seeking proposals from nonprofits that help Ledyard and New London County women and girls.

The Community Foundation is seeking proposals from local non profits who have programs geared toward women and girls in southeastern Connecticut. Proposals will be accepted until August 15 the only catch is, organizations must serve women and/or girls in southeast Connecticut, which includes the towns of East Lyme, Groton, Ledyard, Lyme, Montville, New London, North Stonington, Old Lyme, Salem, Stonington, and Waterford. 

There are a number of programs the Community Foundation is hoping to fund, including those that:

  • prevent domestic violence and treat its victims (grant range: $2,000-8,000)
  • serve New London women aged 62 and older with limited incomes ($2,000-10,000)
  • help women enter or re-enter the workforce ($1,000-2,000)
  • reduce pregnancies and STDs among high-risk teens ($5,000-10,000). 

Charitable organizations, including nonprofits, churches, schools, hospitals, or governmental entities, can apply. Grants will not be made to or for specific individuals, political purposes or lobbying activities, or sectarian religious programs.
