Living History at Up and Down Sawmill

Bring the family or a friend to see demonstration log sawing at Ledyard's  historic water-powered up and down sawmill  living museum on Saturday afternoons in April and May. Volunteer sawyers will be on hand to answer questions about Connecticut's only surviving example of a 19th century technology that supplied the needs of our town.  Visit the adjacent blacksmith shop and see how hardware was made before there were building centers.

If interested, talk with the staff about joining our volunteers group.
