Knick Knack Paddy Whack, These Dogs Deserve A Bone

Dogs learned new tricks at the Ledyard Dog Scout Troop 188 obedience and agility workshops.

 

The Ledyard Dog Scout Troop #188 hosted a couple of day-long workshops that taught dogs agility and obedience skills but it also taught people how to teach their pets new tricks.

Workshop participants learned how to teach their dogs the small, sequential steps required for a desired behavior and the dogs learned that if they listen to the commands, they'll get a tasty treat.

Sheri Throop, one of the group's leaders, shared a recipe for the most coveted dog treat on a hot day:

HOMEMADE FROSTY PAWS/DOGGIE ICE CREAM FROZEN TREATS:

Ingredients:
Three 6 ounce Containers of Plain, Low-Fat Yogurt
1/2 Cup of Peanut Butter (Low Sodium)
1 Four Ounce Jar of Banana Baby Food
1 Tablespoon of Honey

Directions:
1. In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients, blend
well.

2. Pour mixutre into small cups (I used Dixie
Cups).

3. Place dog bone in mixture (to serve as the
handle).

4. Freeze

5. Once frozen, peel away paper cup
and serve!
