Ledyard Light Parade is Today at 5 P.M.

Annual Event To Feature Bon Fire, Carol Sing and Santa

The annual Ledyard Light Parade and Carol Sing will step off from Ledyard Center School today at 5 p.m. As in past years, it will include hot cocoa, a bon fire, and a visit from that jolly old elf, St. Nicholas.

Last year more than 20 groups marched in the parade, including Girl Scouts, employees from Valentino’s and Holdrigdge’s, and Ledyard High School cheerleaders, who led the carol sing with such favorites as “Jingle Bells” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”

Santa marched with the Ledyard Lions Club.

The parade was revived last year after missing a year in 2009. The parade route is fairly short – marchers go out onto Colonel Ledyard Highway, circle Bill Library and head back into the Fairgrounds, where hot cocoa, cookies and a bon fire await.
