Get Out: Five Great Things To Do This Weekend

Because It's No Fun To Stay Home All Weekend

It’s just about time to turn those calendar pages to March—but before you do, make the most of your last February weekend! Patch has some great ideas to make this weekend a fun-filled, memorable one. Get to it!

1. 

WHERE/WHEN: Classic Albums Live performs Thursday through Sunday nights in the Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun. Shows are at 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and at 7 p.m. on Sunday.

WHY GO: They’ll perform a different album each night! How cool is that?

PRICING: Free, free, free! But seating at Wolf Den shows is limited, so be sure to get there early! And remember, you must be 21 or older to attend.

2.  JAZZ NIGHTOUT

WHERE/WHEN: Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at The Ivoryton Playhouse in Ivoryton.

WHY GO: These jazz legends are sure to put on an impressive show. And as if the music wasn’t enough, the night also features appetizers, wine bar and dessert.

PRICING: Tickets are $30 for adults, $25 for seniors, $20 for students and $10 for children 12 and under. Balcony seats are $20; children $10.

3. LIVE MUSIC AT THE BLACK SHEEP PUBLIC HOUSE

WHERE/WHEN: The Irish bar and restaurant in Niantic hosts live music on Friday and Saturday this week.

WHY GO: The plays on Friday and play on Saturday. Both shows are at 9:30 p.m.

PRICING: No cover charge.

4. 

WHERE/WHEN: Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. at the Olde Mistick Village in Mystic.

WHY GO: Chowder, chowder and more chowder! Proceeds benefit the Emergency Food Pantry at the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center. Plus, there’s plenty of free family activities to keep the kids occupied!

PRICING: Events are free. Chowder samples are $1 each, $5 for 7 or $10 for 15.

5. 

WHERE/WHEN: Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Palmer Auditorium at Connecticut College.

WHY GO: The world tour of this film festival makes four stops in Connecticut this weekend—New London, Glastonbury, Deep River and Farmington. Don’t miss this amazing evening of adventure!

PRICING: Tickets are $15.
