Ledge Light Health District Celebrates National Public Health Week

In 1995, President William Jefferson Clinton proclaimed the first full week of April as National Public Health Week (NPHW). Each year since then, the public health community has celebrated this observance by focusing on a theme that is important to improving the public's health.

This year’s theme, “A Healthier America Begins Today,” is about promoting all the small things we can do to prevent disease and illness in our communities. As part of this theme, Ledge Light Health District is collaborating with public libraries in our District (East Lyme, Groton, Ledyard, New London and Waterford). Visit us and learn about public health during the week of April 2 through April 5.

You can find us at these locations from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.:
