Connecticut Gas Prices Fall Another Five Cents

Drivers are paying an average of $3.75 per gallon in Connecticut.

Connecticut gas tanks continue to be filled for less! GasBuddy.com reports that the state average has dropped 5.2 cents this week to a new low of $3.75 per gallon.

Connecticut isn't the only state enjoying lower prices. The national average also fell 5 cents, dipping to $3.52 per gallon, according to GasBuddy.com.

"The national average continues to be driven down as oil prices have fallen in recent weeks," said GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan. "The year on year savings is approaching 40 cents a gallon in some spots- not necessarily hitting the lottery, but every cent counts. As we get closer to Memorial Day there's also the chance of an increase in pricing volatility thanks to refinery maintenance season that will be gradually coming to a close," DeHaan said.

Here are some more statistics from GasBuddy.com:

  • Connecticut average gas prices are currently 40.3 cents lower than a year ago and have dropped 14.7 cents compared to last month
  • National averages are 37 cents lower than a year ago and 13.8 cents cheaper than last month
