We're all watching our family budgets these days. Whether shopping with coupons or looking for two-for-one deals, we're taking advantage of all sorts of offers and savings that help us stretch our dollars.This column gives you five great local deals each week to help your family’s bottom line. 1. Mohegan Sun Mother's Day.

Deal: On Mother's Day, the Wolf Den will be featuring the Grammy-nominated Blues pianist Al Copley at 7:00pm. At Big Bubba’s BBQ, a special dinner consisting of Prime Rib with a Twice Baked Potato plus an additional side will be prepared for $22.95 per person from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Caché will offer a Mother’s Day exclusive sale with a special 10 percent discount on your entire purchase for Mom. At Citizen Watch, a box set special featuring a gold Citizen watch with a black dial and matching bracelet will be offered for $159.99. Lalo Treasures will take 15 percent off the purchase of a Lalo necklace and earring set. LUSH will offer a variety of last-minute gift options on Mother’s Day including MUMs bath bombs for $7.95, a MUM gift for $37.95 and a MUM hatbox for $49.95. At Ben & Jerry’s guests who buy one Cone/Cup will get a second one free of equal value for you or your mother.  Starbucks will be offering a complimentary tall beverage of choice for any guest that buys two or more whole bean bags of coffee. Going on now through Mother’s Day, Spin Street will have the Kodak Easyshare Digital Camera; Model C813 on sale for 25 percent off. From April 27 through Mother’s Day, Swarovski will be offering their Heart or Bella Earrings for $35.00 with any qualifying purchase.

2. Foxwoods Mother's Day.

Deal: Apparently Mother's Day Bingo at Foxwoods is legendary.  It's the Mother's Day Mystery  envelope! There are $1,800 regular payouts on Saturday and Sunday.  You can purchase your tickets on line and even pick your section.  The bingo hall seats 3,600 people so bring the whole family (if they are over 18) and make Mom the beneficiary of all the wins! The hall opens at 8 a.m. and bingo starts promptly at 10:30.

3. World Youth Day

Deal: World Youth Day is Friday, May 6. From 6-9 p.m. at United Congregational Church, Norwich. Come celebrate Rich Diversity in the Greater Norwich area. Celebrate with our youth from around the world.Looking to perform contact us at 860-889-1363.  This event is Free.

4. Plant/Garden Sales

Deal: Mother's Day Plant Sales. Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Gales Ferry's is from 12-4 p.m. on Friday. Gallup Hill School in Ledyard has one from 3-7 p.m. on Friday. Yantic Fire Engine Co. plant/yard sale is from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and Calvert Library in North Frankslin has one at the same time as Yantic on Saturday. These sales are great because all of the plants are native to this area some come right from their gardens.  Plants are trimmed and potted with care by real local gardners. They also have tons of advice because they grew it!

5. Target

Deal: So what do you really think Mom wants for Mother's Day?  Wrong.  She wants electronics!  Kindles-$114, ipods-8GB $145 plus $15 gift card back, new camera's to take pictures of you-$89 for a Cannon Powershot 14 megapixels and 4x zoom, camcorders-$99 with a $10 gift card back, 8GB memory cards-$16.  Almost all of the camera's have gift card rebates between $15-$40. Well, that's what I want anyway.
