Five Great Deals May 25-May 31

We're all watching our family budgets these days. Whether shopping with coupons or looking for two-for-one deals, we're taking advantage of all sorts of offers and savings that help us stretch our dollars.This column gives you five great local deals each week to help your family’s bottom line. 1.Sephora

Deal: Sephora is opening a brand new store at Mohegan Sun on Friday, May 27th at 10am.  The first 100 in line will receive gift cards worth up to $500.  Sign up at www.sephora.com to become a beauty insider it's free and let the rewards begin.  If you are a beauty insider your will receive a Free patent leather tote with any purchase (print email).  They’ve got all the best brands in beauty, like Bare Escentuals, Benefit, Bumble & bumble, NARS and Philosophy.

2. Reopening Concert of Leamy Hall

Deal: A Free and open to the public performance by the United States Coast Guard Band.  What's more patriotic than that? There are two performances, one on Saturday, May 28 at 7pm and Sunday, May 29 at 2pm. The program features the music of George Gershwin.

 3.Virtu

Deal: Every year 180 artists or so come to Wilcox Park in Westerly.  This year the event is on Saturday and Sunday May 27 & 28 from 10-5pm.  Brouse or Buy there really is something for everyone and admission is Free. Face painting and baloons are free and there will be 100 pieces of sidewalk chalk to help transform the park walkways! There is a special area for kids called Creation Station for families to do a bunch of crafts together. Entertainment is by the fountain as you wind your way through the artists and crafters. 

4.CVS

Deal: Spend $30 on a bunch of great offers and get $10 worth of Free gas. Offers include: 99cent 2-litre coke products, $8.99 Folgers classic roast 22-33oz red buckets of coffee, 88cent Palmolive dish soap, Buy one get one Free 20oz Gatorade or Sobe or 32oz Lifewater; Swidish Fish, Sour Patch, Doritos or Tostitos 2-for 5.  Not included in the gas offer but still good offers are Buy one get one Free Scunci hair accessories, CVS power flash disposable cameras, Edys slow churned ice cream and buy 2 get one free Hershey's singles candy bars.

5. Christmas Tree Shop

Deal: First time subscribers to the Christmas Tree Shops email will recieve a coupon for $10 off a $50 purchase.  The Inflatable Salad Bar Buffet caught my eye this week for $6.99.  It's like a blow-up pool for your food that you fill with ice and don't have that annoying opening and closing of the cooler. Famous maker sunglasses are 50% off, $1 flip-flops, This cute little 40 piece 2-person camping set including tent for $20, kids sleeping bags for $13 and lined picnic baskets that you can fill and bring to Virtu this weekend and all summer for $10-$13. Don't you just love a bargain?

note: ALL hardware stores have sales on Memorial Day weekend. Home Depot is doing $5 off BEHR gallons and $20 off 5 gallon purchases.  Check your local hardware store, in store specials are usually better than published and you get free advice.  Also, ALL plant centers will be cleaning out their annuals this weekend.
