Check Out Art on Groton Bank on Saturday!

This year's Art on Groton Bank looks like it's going to be fun, and interesting and new - and filled with fresh and exciting art!

The show takes place on Saturday, July 20, at the Bill Memorial Library, near the Groton Monument. The event is free, and runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This year, in addition to spots along the fence to the south of the library, you'll also find art along the fence at the back, and on the Great Lawn to the north of the library.

More than two dozen artists are scheduled to show their work at the event, which celebrates creativity and its value to the local community. There will be painting, mixed media work, jewelry, woodworking, photography, fiber arts and more.

Participating artists include

Chris Rose, director of the Gallery at Lighthouse, an arm of The Lighthouse Voc-Ed Center of Groton, is directing Art on Groton Bank again this year, following the 2012 death of Audrey Heard, one of the event's founders.

The Friends of the Bill Memorial Library, and AOGB organizers also are participating. Many have taken part for all seven years of the event

Corporate sponsors include Thames Valley Communications, the Bill Memorial Library, Groton Utilities, the City of Groton, and The Lighthouse Voc-Ed Center.
