Child's Play Wins Readers' Choice For Best Preschool

of Gales Ferry is the winner of the Ledyard Patch’s Readers’ Choice Best Preschool.

“Child's Play in Ledyard is fantastic! Always working to become better and updating their facilities! Staff is trained and caring and always open communication between parents!!! Great nurturing place,” said a Ledyard Patch user who goes by Mary.

Child’s Play received 146, or 32 percent, of the 456 votes cast. United Methodist Child Care Center came in at a close second most popular choice with 127 votes (27 percent) and came in as third choice with 104 votes (22 percent).

Patch user who goes by Mary said, “My youngest son attended Child's Play and he loved it! They did a great job of preparing him for Kindergarten. Ms. Patty and all the staff helped him become the enthusiastic learner he is today! Thank you Child's Play!!!”

Obviously, parents and caregivers are passionate about the quality of care their children receive and, Readers’ Choice or not, if your child is happy and doing well, then you are fortunate.

Patch user Robin Lipman has this piece of advice for parents, “choosing a preschool is such a personal decision, based on a number of factors, that a poll seems a bit unfair. Every preschool program in town has wonderful, dedicated staff who will make your child feel welcome. Some programs are small, and offer a more nursery school environment, while some centers are larger, and include extended daycare. The public school programs provide opportunities to learn in an integrated setting with students with special needs. I think they are all great--families just need to find the right match!"
