Daily Five: Last Chance To File Taxes, Or Extension

Five things to know on Tuesday, April 17.

1. Today promises to be slightly less like summer than yesterday. NOAA.gov says we’ll still see clear skies but the high today will only be around 75. Tonight is forecast to be partly cloudy, with a low around 39.

2. Today is the last day you can file taxes or apply for an extension. If you owe taxes, you have to put the check in the mail today or you'll likely have to pay interest and/or penalties. The Bill Library has plenty of federal and state income tax forms and instruction booklets and you can file online for free using the IRS website.

3. The needs a name! They’re asking parents and students to enter a name or name(s) in a contest and the first place winner gets all the glory and an iPod shuffle. The second place winner gets a breakfast for the whole class from Dunkin Donuts and the third place winner gets a gift certificate to Ray’s New Haven Pizza. Submit entries by Friday, April 20 at the Gallup Hill office or the aftercare bulletin board at the school.
