Daily Five: Students' CMTs Are Packed And Ready To Ship

1. We’re continuing on this sunny spring weather today according to NOAA.gov. It will be sunny with a high near 54 today and tonight will be mostly clear, with a low around 31.

2. An updated town budget reports additional expenditures in salary adjustments. So, at this point, the finance committee and town council would have to find $392,000 in savings to deliver a zero-increase budget.

4. The Public Works Department has received a $51,676.78 check from FEMA as reimbursement for equipment use and overtime during Tropical Storm Irene. Steve Masalin, director of public works, said a second reimbursement check is on its way.

5. The school packaged and 58 boxes filled with Ledyard students' Connecticut Mastery Tests test booklets today. Belinda Learned, a secretary in the central office, said it is quite a process to get them packaged a proscribed by the state board of education. Learned said all the test booklets need to be organized according to specific requirements and she mentioned something about using only three pieces of tape on the boxes.
