Daily Five: Town Meeting Tonight And It’s Rabies Awareness Month

Five things to know on Monday, May 22.

 

1. The National Weather Service said today, there’s a “chance of showers, mostly cloudy, with a high near 67. Same thing for tonight, a chance of showers but a low around 53.

2. Tonight’s the last chance you get to complain, with detail, about the 2012-13 budget. Do that at the town meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at the high school.

3. Who doesn’t love dogs and ice cream? In one week, will be showing off their tricks at from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Kids get a coupon for a free soft serve cone and an up-close look at Ledyard Police cars.

4. Seventh grade artists are invited to submit cover art for the middle school’s 2012-13 agenda, which is handed out to all 7th and 8th graders. The submissions are due by June 1; and Mr. Chella and Mrs. Dahl will select 10-20 entries then 7th graders will vote for their favorite. Specifications are included on the school’s website.

5. M, according to Animal Control Officer Kimlyn Marshall. She wants to remind readers that there is a $136 fine per un-vaccinated pet but don’t fret, there will be a vaccination clinic on June 10 at the high school, which offers vaccinations for a total cost of $8. The clinic is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
