Daily Five: It's NOT A Scam Alert And Ledyard Idols

Five things to know on Wednesday, May 16.

 

1. It sounds like today will be much like yesterday. The National Weather Service forecasts “showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 3pm, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3pm.” Tonight, may be “mostly cloudy, with a low around 50.”

2. The Ledyard Police Union is soliciting funds to support local youth sports leagues and scholarhips. Ledyard residents will receive phone calls from a company called TCI for the next 4 to 6 weeks, according to union president Dan Gagnon. Last year the campaign raised approximatly $11,000 to 12,000 he said.

3. It is not too late to join the Ledyard Farmers’ Market. Market master Bob Burns has opened the market up to businesses who want to advertise and sell products there.
