Daily Five: Walk Through Ledyard Reservoir Property

Five things to know on Friday, May 11.

 

1. The National Weather Service says that today we’ll see increasing clouds, with a high near 66 and tonight will be mostly cloudy during the early evening, then becoming clear, with a low around 41.

2. "Our budget has generated almost no controversy, which is a good thing from my point of view," said Town Council Chairman Sean Sullivan. But Sullivan reacted to the lack of controversy and encouraged people to vote on the May 22 referendum. Sullivan expressed some concern that the budget could be defeated out of sheer apathy. Sullivan said if very few people vote, then the people who oppose the budget for any reason could very well outnumber the people who are in favor.

5. As part of Clean Water Week this Saturday, May 12, at 10 a.m. Groton Utilities will sponsor a walk thru the Ledyard reservoir property. The group will meet at the Sandy Hollow Road overlook parking lot. Call 860-446-4135 to register. This opportunity does not come often so make every effort to take advantage of this offer.
