Eat Cheese And Drink Wine For Connecticut’s Farmland

The inaugural Nutmegger Cheese and Wine Festival takes place on Sunday, September 23 from noon to 4 p.m. at Jones Family Farms.

People have been pairing wine and cheese together for centuries but this September wine and cheese lovers will pair the two to protect Connecticut farmland.

The Working Lands Alliance presents the inaugural Nutmegger Cheese and Wine Festival on September 23 from noon to 4 p.m. Held at Jones Family Farms in Shelton, Connecticut, the festival will be a fundraiser for Working Lands Alliance, which works to protect Connecticut farmland and advance agriculture, and the Valley Initiative to Advance Health & Learning in Schools, an organization that works to reduce obesity in students through childhood nutrition.

According to the American Farmland Trust the U.S. loses more than an acre of farmland every minute.

The Nutmegger Cheese and Wine Festival will include samples of Connecticut produced cheeses, route: {:controller=>"articles", :action=>"show", :id=>"creating-the-connecticut-cheese-trail"} --> and
