  3. On Tuesday, Nov. 29, Foxwoods Resort Casino celebrates this very special time of year with a tree lighting ceremony from 3 to 6 p.m. in Great Cedar Square (between Cedars Steak House and Ben & Jerry’s). The ceremony will begin with Tribal Council Chairman Rodney Butler lighting the tree at 3 p.m. Guests can get into the holiday spirit taking photos with Santa, listening to carolers, and sampling holiday treats including hot cocoa, cider and cookies.
  4. On Wednesday, Nov. 30, a really cool event in Gales Ferry, with hot cocoa and goodies, plus free 5-minute neck massages. Here’s what to do: Stop by i5 Teaching Network between 5-7 p.m. It’s right next to Fireside Brick Oven Creations. Bring some new socks or an unopened package of underwear or diapers to be distributed to local shelters. And that’s it. Talk to Marge about “Undercover Operations.” Visit with friends. Drink cocoa. Get a massage.
  5. Then on Friday, Dec. 2, the Gales Ferry District will be hosting an Open House and Community Holiday Social, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., featuring the Ledyard High School Carolers at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome for an evening of socializing with neighbors, admiring the newly renovated Community Center, and listening to amazing live music. Drinks, snacks, and desserts will be provided, so bring the entire family to kick off the holiday season with an evening of fun and entertainment.
