Five Things: Slow Down!

Ledyard Football Banquet, Two or More Pets, Subpar the New Normal?

  1. Rain likely today. High 46F. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 90%. Rainfall near a quarter of an inch. Windy tonight. A few showers this evening with clearing overnight. Low 39F.
  2. Connecticut State Police at the Troop E barrack in Montville had a busy night, with vehicles slipping and sliding on slick roads. "We cleared it up at 1 .a.m. from a bunch of accidents," the dispatcher said this morning, "and it's starting again because people are going to work. People are driving too fast." There is ice out there, people. Slow Down! And please be careful.
  3. The Ledyard High School Football team celebrated its success – past and present and future – at the annual banquet Saturday, held at Lake of Isles. More memories to last a lifetime.
  4. Two or more pets seems to be the way to go, according to our Patch Poll yesterday. Makes sense. How many pets to you have?
  5. New Quote of the Year (so far):  “If everyone's being downgraded, does that mean that subpar is the new normal?
