School Schedule Changes, Home Field Advantage, Mayoral Debate, Apple Picking Time

  2. The town has begun the application process for FEMA reimbursement aid after tropical storm Irene exhausted the Public Works Department's overtime account. 
  3. The Ledyard High School football team pounded Killingly Friday night, 33-8, to bring a 1-0 record into this Friday’s home opener against Windham. The game will be played at Mignault Field. BYOLC (bring your own lawn chair).
  4. Ledyard’s four mayoral candidates will face off at a debate on Oct. 11 at Ledyard High School, sponsored by the Norwich Bulletin. The lineup includes Mayor Fred B. Allyn Jr., Republican John Rodolico, Democrat Tony Saccone and petitioning candidate Robert Lawrence.
  5. If was a beautiful weekend for apple picking. If you haven’t gotten to Holmberg Orchards yet, now is the time. (First day of autumn is this week!)
