Five Things to Know Today

8th-Grade LHS Orientation Tonight, Babe Ruth Town Meeting Wednesday

  1. Mostly sunny today, with a few afternoon clouds. High temperature 49F. Winds from the northwest at 15 to 25 mph. Tonight a few clouds, low 31F.
  2. Ledyard High School is hosting an eighth-grade orientation for parents tonight. Meet in the Gaucher Auditorium at 6:30 p.m.
  3. There will be a special town meeting on Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. in the Town Hall Annex to consider whether the town should appropriate funds to construct a Babe Ruth Field at the Pfizer Complex on Route 214, and other improvements, together not to exceed $60,000. 
  4. Matt Buriak-Lauren Candler Benefit Choral Concert is Thursday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m. in the Gaucher Auditorium. Tickets are $5 and all proceeds go directly to the Matt Buriak and Lauren Candler Memorial Scholarship funds.
  5. Katelyn Cusmano was named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2010 semester at Drew University in Madison, N.J. Also, both Sarah Dube and Collin Stiles were named to the Deans List at University of Albany. We missed these students when we published the Deans List earlier this year.
