- It was supposed to be cloudy in Ledyard this morning then becoming mostly sunny, with highs in the upper 70s. North winds around 5 mph...becoming southwest this afternoon.
- In case you were wondering why Daily Five was not up this morning at 5 a.m., it's because I am away this week. Right now I am in Maine with two of my children. We brought our float in this weekend and now we are headed back to Connecticut. The leaves up here are just starting to turn.
- We goofed on a name this weekend. Andrew Lee is the Colonel's kicker who made two extra points in Ledyard's win over Windham.
- We met LHS senior Hayley Schneider late this summer when Gov. Malloy was in town after tropical storm Irene. Haley was on the job, taking notes for The Colonel. We thought she would make a good Student Spotlight.
- Readers are still weighing in on our Death Penalty poll. The proponents were ahead of the opponents by a handful -- 127-101 late in the morning. (New poll comes out this afternoon on gays in the military.)
