Rainy Day, Big Night at Town Hall, Ledyard Patch is 6 Months Old!
- Rain today, with a high of 48F. Winds ENE at 20 to 30 mph. Up to two inches of rain expected. Winds could occasionally gust over 40 mph early. Tonight showers likely, becoming less numerous late. Low 41F.
- A public hearing on the sale of a portion of the former Gales Ferry School property, approximately 1.89 acres at 7 Hurlbutt Road, to G.B. New England 2, for $625,000, will be begin tonight at 6:45 in the Town Hall annex.
- A special town meeting will follow the public hearing at 7 p.m. at which residents will vote on the land sale. The property is slated for a CVS pharmacy.
- A meeting of the Town Council will follow the town meeting vote at which a proposed $48 million municipal budget for 2011-12 will be considered. Big night at Town Hall.
- The Ledyard Patch was launched six months ago today. Seems like only yesterday.
