Five Things to Know Today

Wet Day Perfect for Town Budget Referendum,

  1. Patchy fog in the morning. Rain with isolated thunderstorms. Highs in the mid 50s. Northeast winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 90 percent. 
  2. Today is the town referendum on a $49,134,068 budget proposal for 2011-12. The effective increase is less than 1 percent. Polls at Ledyard Center and Juliet W. Long schools are open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  3. The Ledyard Tea Part Patriots will hold their regular monthly meeting tonight at 7 p.m. at Bll Library.
  4. For the next several weeks the Ledyard 175th committee will be looking for sponsors and also businesses to participate in the month-long celebration, which begins May 28. Contact Tony Capon at tcapon@pitt.edu
