Five Things to Know Today

Primary Day, Summer Solstice, One Happy Pig, LMS Promotion Ceremony

  1. Intervals of clouds and sunshine today, high 78F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph. Tonight partly cloudy skies early followed by mostly cloudy skies and a few showers later. Low 63F.
  2. Today is primary day. If you are a registered Democrat or Republican, don’t forget to vote for your choice for regional Probate Judge.
  3. Today is also the first day of summer, and the last day of school in Ledyard. Funny how that worked out.
  4. D.A.R.E. officer Liz Smith kissed a pig yesterday at Juliet W. Long School. So did fourth-grade teacher Santo Silva. That pig was really feeling the love.
  5. A total of 223 eighth-graders were honored Monday at Ledyard Middle School (watch for our report later this morning). Next stop: high school! But first a nice long summer to still be kids.
