Five Things to Know Today

2. The town’s Emergency Response Team will convene Saturday morning to update preparations for Hurricane Irene, which should blow into our area sometime on Sunday. So far there are no plans to evacuate or open an emergency shelter.

4. Antonio Reale was unable to realize his dream of an indoor water and theme park at the Norwich State Hospital property. Now he’s hoping to make it happen in Ledyard, on the Allyn Farm off Route 2.
