Five Things to Know Today

Wheeler Students, Harvest Festival, Colonels vs. Bobcats, 4-H Supper

  1. Nice day today. Except for a few afternoon clouds, mainly sunny. High 62F. Winds SW at 15 to 25 mph. Tonight Clear skies. Low 47F.
  2. Ledyard schools Superintendent Dr. Michael Graner said Wheeler High School students would be welcomed at Ledyard High School if North Stonington ever decides to close the school, a decision that has not been made and may never be made.
  3. There will be a Harvest Fall Festival Saturday at 11 a.m. at Little Learners, 130 Gallup Hill Road. This is a free, fun-filled event, with pumpkin painting, face painting, moon bounce, children's activities, plus much more.
  4. The Ledyard Colonels Football team will travel to Colchester Saturday to meet the Bobcats of Bacon Academy. Game time is 2 p.m.
  5. Once again, Ledyard 4-H Ziti Supper is tonight at 5 p.m. at the Ledyard Congregational Church. It's $8 for adults, $5 for children 6 and under. Happy people, noodle salad. Proceeds to benefit three local 4-H clubs.
