Haluch Contracted For Avery Hill, Aljen Heights Water Projects

Construction is scheduled to begin mid-September.

Mayor John Rodolico signed two contracts with Haluch Water Contracting Inc. for construction of municipal water lines Wednesday, according to a press release.

The first contract was for $2,384,760.20 and includes the construction of water mains on Avery Hill Road, Tuckers Run and Windward Lane as well as road and drainage repairs, said the release. The second contract was for $2,521,520.21 and includes construction of water mains in the Aljen Heights area, road and drainage improvements.

Costs related to the water line will be funded under the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Program administered by the Connecticut Department of Health. The program provides up to 20% of the costs as a grant and the balance as a reduced rate loan.

Construction is scheduled to begin by September 17 and is expected to finish within a year.
