Ledyard Police Officer Arrested

Two men, including a Ledyard police officer, were arrested after an altercation.

The Day is reporting that Ledyard Police Officer James Grzesiak, 48, was arrested by Connecticut State Police Monday after an altercation at his Preston home.

“State police said Grzesiak became involved in a fight with Joshua M. Thibeault, 18, who listed the same address as Grzesiak,” wrote The Day.

Grzesiak was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was released on a $2,500 bond.

The Day said that Joshua M. Thibeault, 18, of the same address was also arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. Thibeault was released on a $500 bond. Both men appear today in Norwich Superior Court.

According to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website, Grzesiak is scheduled to appear in court today for an August incident for which he was charged for disorderly conduct.

According to Ledyard Police Lt. Michael Finkelstein, Grzesiak is on administrative leave now. The Mayor’s office could not immediately be reached for comment.
