Slick Roads Cause Three Accidents, Send One to Hospital

Three accidents caused by two inches of snow and one person was sent to the hospital.

 

A thin and seemingly harmless layer of snow is to blame for three accidents Monday night. Few injuries were reported and one person was sent to the hospital.

  • There was a head-on collision on Route 117 near Lambtown Road. One person was transported by LVES to L+M Hospital to for precautionary reasons.
  • A car slid off the road and onto a stone wall on Spicer Hill Road near Gray Farm, no injuries were reported as a result of that accident.
  • One car rolled over on Route 214 by Lee Brook Drive, no injuries were reported as a result of that accident.

More snow is forecast today followed by a cold snap with temperatures in the single digits. Here’s the week’s forecast from the National Weather Service.

  • Tuesday Scattered flurries. Partly sunny, with a high near 25. Blustery, with a northwest wind 16 to 20 mph.
  • Tuesday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 7. Wind chill values as low as -2. Northwest wind 9 to 15 mph.
  • Wednesday Partly sunny, with a high near 21. Wind chill values as low as -4. Northwest wind 8 to 14 mph.
  • Wednesday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 8. Northwest wind 6 to 8 mph.
  • Thursday Mostly sunny, with a high near 20.
  • Thursday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 9.
  • Friday Snow likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 29. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
  • Friday Night Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 16. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
  • Saturday Partly sunny, with a high near 26.
  • Saturday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 13.
  • Sunday Sunny, with a high near 28.
  • Sunday Night Mostly cloudy, with a low around 19.
  • Monday Partly sunny, with a high near 37.
