VIDEO: Harkness Mansion Halls Are Decked

Friends of Harkness host a holiday party for volunteers and staff of the historic property.

Volunteers and staff of the historic property at Harkness Memorial State Park were treated to a holiday party in a grand tradition befitting of the 40-room "summer home" that previously belonged to philanthropists Edward and Mary Harkness.

Friends of Harkness, the volunteer group that holds guided tours and events on the grounds during the summer, opened the mansion's doors to host a holiday party in appreciation of the season's workers.

Volunteers spent hours decorating the halls and rooms along the first floor of the mansion for guests with donated decorations and flourishments, including a 12-foot Christmas tree.
