The week began with a bang when the long-awaited CVS in Gales Ferry opened. Folks in the Village of Gales Ferry are happy to have a new place to get their prescriptions and convenience items. The Gales Ferry CVS Pharmacy opens in a community that has no grocery store or pharmacy.
“I’m thrilled to have a CVS Pharmacy in my neighborhood. I used to have to go to Stop and Shop or CVS in Groton,” said Kathy Kane, also of Gales Ferry.

The election season is heating up and people are getting to know the candidates. Town councilors and Mayor John Rodolico shared their hopes for after the next election.
Councilor Linda Davis said she wants, “the government out of our lives, smaller government, and more job creation,” and Councilor Sharon Wadecki said, “"I hope that the economy improves; that people who aren't working get jobs and that the jobs that have gone overseas come back. And I hope that Congress stops fighting and they pass some legislation and they pass a budget."
