Most Ledyard residents seem very pleased with how quickly and how well the Ledyard Public Works cleared the roads during and directly after the winter storm that dumped 2-feet or more of snow in the Northeast last weekend.
An overwhelming amount of posts on the Ledyard Patch Facebook page commended the crew for their long hours, hard work and for doing such a great job.
One poster wrote, "Yes for Barrett park!!! I was in all the surrounding towns and Ledyard was heaven compared to any of them!!! Would like to thank the town for all the hours they have put in. Great job!"
Another poster wrote, "Snow??!!! We had snow?! I didn't see any on our street......they are good!!"
Although now that driveways have been shoveled, some people have expressed surprise to find residual piles of snow at the end of their drive as a result of continuing clean up. Director of Public Works Steve Masalin said sympathized with residents and said that that the roads still need more clearing especially to unclog drains for future snow and rain.
But again, one poster said it best when she wrote: "i think people rely too much on things to be done immediately, we dont realize that people can only work so fast to get things done (plowed in this case) efficiently. It may be the 21st century but we cant control weather. lol"
