Wintery Mix Arrives; Schools Closed

Rain, Ice Expected

Schools are cancelled as are all parks and rec programs because of the freezing rain this morning.

The Nation Weather Service says to expect snow before 9 a.m., then snow and freezing rain until about noon, followed by rain after noon. (This is where the icky stuff is).

The high will be 39, and the chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Ice could accumulate, though the weather service calls for less than a 0.1 of an inch of ice; there could be 1-2 inches of new snow.

Tuesday night, the rain continues, mainly before midnight. It wll be blustery, with a north wind, and the chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
