Bark For Life

Bark For Life is the dog form of Relay For Life. It invites the public to bring their dogs to their own Relay event and have some fun while raising funds for the American Cancer Society. Dogs get cancer too. Much of the American Cancer Society funded research discoveries for humans can be used for dogs as well so we want to raise as much as we can. The event will have a survivor dog lap to honor those dogs who have been diagnosed with cancer and caregiver dog lap dedicated to those dogs that stand with their human companion during their cancer journey. A dog is always there when you are ill; with the caregiver dog lap we recognize that admirable trait in dogs. This event coincides with the CT Tigers annual Bark in the Park baseball game where dogs are allowed to attend the ball game with their Best Friend.

There will be dog contests, a photo booth for pictures with your dog, and other fun activities. The Tigers will have pet related vendors and some dog demonstrations during this time. Dog activities, laps and contests are only open to registered dogs.

To attend one needs to register their dog by downloading the registration packet from the website at www.relayforlife.org/southeasternct (papers are on the home page) and paying a $10.00 registration fee. Additionally, a ticket to the game is required.  Papers can be turned in prior to the event by mailing to the address indicated on the papers or turning them in at the door. We ask that all human companions help their dogs to use the paper in the packet to raise some donations in advance to the event. All owners must show documentation of recent rabies shot or town license.

Help us let the Dogs out and honor them for their contribution to the cancer journey by joining us for Bark For Life on Aug. 18th at 2:30 (game starts at 4:00).
