40 Days in the Word
Sunday Mornings and Wednesday Evenings (Six Weeks), Starting Sunday, January 6th!
Starting in January 2013, a 6 week study, by Rich Warren titled, "40 Days in the Word. Love the Word. Learn the Word. Live the Word."
This DVD based study teaches how to study and act on God's Word, the Bible. Rick Warren describes the objective of the study this way:
“Jesus says both knowing and applying the Word creates the foundation for our lives: “Everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock” (Matthew 7:24 NIV). In order to become Christ like, we must become living translations of God’s Word.
God's Word is unlike any other book. It is alive. When God speaks, your life will be transformed, but that can only happen by making the Bible the authoritative standard for your life: the compass you rely on for directions, the counsel you listen to for making wise decisions, and the benchmark you use for evaluating everything. The Bible must always have the first and last word in your life. My hope is that the next 40 DAYS IN THE WORD will become the most important days of your life as you love God's Word, learn God's Word and live God's word. “

40 DAYS IN THE WORD includes a weekly DVD Lesson and a companion workbook describing the bible study technique and daily opportunities to practice the techniques taught each week. Each participant will receive a workbook, but you have the flexibility to participate in as little or as much as you wish.
There are 2 opportunities to join in the 40 DAYS IN THE WORD journey starting January 2013.
Sunday mornings (starting January 6) during the regular 9:15 Sunday School hour we will offer the weekly lessons presented in DVD format.
Wednesday evenings (starting January 9) we will offer the DVD lessons at 6:30 and then at 7:30 small group discussions of how the principles taught apply to the week's scripture studies. Participants in the Sunday morning DVD lessons are invited to join in the small group discussions on Wednesday evenings.
