The Connecticut Department of Children and Families is bringing the traveling photography exhibit “Heart Gallery” to Crystal Mall to be on display for two months. The exhibit was created to raise awareness about children who are available for adoption. The goal of the exhibit is to inspire people to look into the eyes of the children, and then look into their hearts to see if they can offer one or more a “forever family.”

                        About the Heart Gallery:

The first Heart Gallery was created in 2001 in New Mexico by the Children, Youth and Families Department as a way to raise awareness about children who are available for adoption. Like a lovingly nurtured child, the Heart Gallery has grown since that very successful first exhibit, and now takes place in over 45 states in the U.S.A. In 2003, photographers Christine Breslin and Sandy Hale approached the Department of Children & Families and brought the first Heart Gallery to the State of Connecticut. In 2005, adoptive parent Lisa Konicki spearheaded a collaborative project with the States of Connecticut and Rhode Island to host a joint Heart Gallery exhibit featuring children from both states
