Olde Mistick Village Has A Festival For Garlic Lovers

The Fifth Annual Garlic Festival takes place this weekend at the Olde Mistick Village

 

The celebrates all things allium sativum this weekend at the Fifth Annual Garlic Festival.

Farmers, local restaurants and merchants are preparing to turn the Olde Mistick Village into a . On Saturday, Sept. 15 and Sunday, Sept. 16 local farmers, merchants, artisans and authors will line the pathways of the Olde Mistick Village for the festival.

Local farmers will have more than 30 varieties of garlic for sale including garlic bulbs and garlic infused food. Farmers, many from the , will also sell fresh produce, honey, jams and syrups.

More than 60 vendors including many of the Olde Mistick Village merchants are participating. Artisans and authors will sell garlic pottery, clay themed crafts and garlic shirts and books. Activities such as cooking demonstrations will take place throughout the weekend. The is planning on presenting its Birds of Prey program and My Dogs Place will give an obedience and training show. There will also be music throughout the weekend provided by local bands and musicians.
