Deadline For Women & Girls Fund Grants Is Aug. 15
Charities serving local towns, including Ledyard, are invited to apply
Charitable organizations providing service to the towns of Ledyard, East Lyme, Groton, Lyme, Montville, New London, North Stonington, Old Lyme, Salem, Stonington and Waterford are invited to apply for grants through the Women & Girls Fund southeast-area chapter, the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut has announced.
According to an email to Patch, CFECT has issued a request for proposals and they must be postmarked by Aug. 15.

Applying organizations must support residents from any of the towns listed above, including Ledyard.
The email explains that grants from the Women & Girls Fund are intended to:

- assist women in the New London area who are looking for jobs
- help vicitims of domestic violence and provide prevention programs
- aid the low-income, elderly women living in the area
