Community Update

This is a wonderful barn! The owner, Sally Hinkle Russell, is an amazing instructor, and just a wonderful person in general. We are dreading our change of duty stations because leaving this barn is going to be very hard. There is a plethora of lesson horses and ponies suitable to riders of all skill levels and ages. There are many instructors to choose from that represent all the different styles of english riding. The grounds are enormous and absolutely stunning. They have 2 indoor riding arenas which is great for winter riding. My daughter has only once had a lesson cancelled due to weather and that was because of hurricane Irene! Outdoors, there are 2 dressage rings, 2 hunter rings, a grand prix/jumper ring, a cross country course and miles of beautiful trails. The horses and ponies here are well loved by the boarders, the students and the workers. The barn hosts a great show schedule offering many rated and schooling shows at home, and also travels to many A and AA rated shows for serious competitors. Sally coaches an IEA team and Ricahrd, the barn manager, coaches an IHSA team. This barn is highly involved in the community and hosts pet adoptions and cancer walks. Mystic Valley Hunt Club is just phenomenal.
