Patch's Poll: Romney Picks Paul Ryan as VP; What's Your Take?

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney settles on a fiscal conservative member of the House of Representatives as his running mate in the 2012 election.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has chosen Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate for the November election.

Romney announced the decision in a press release Saturday morning, titled “America’s Comeback Team,” as well as through his “Mitt’s VP” smart phone app.

Ryan, 42, is in his seventh term in Congress representing Wisconsin’s First Congressional District. He’s also a chairman of the House Budget Committee, and last year he unveiled a counter budget titled “Roadmap for America’s Future,” which proposed to eliminate the federal deficit over a multi-year period.

Democrats and liberals derided the budget, however, saying it focused more on cuts to spending for social programs and less on tax cuts for the wealthy.

The Huffington Post notes that both liberals and conservatives will be “thrilled” with Romney’s choice.

Do you think Mitt Romney made the right choice in choosing Paul Ryan as his running mate in the 2012 presidential race? Take our poll and share your thoughts in the comments.

Its not that I don't like Ron Paul, I do agree with him on many issues with the exception of the military. So if he is going to be against Obama, who is his running mate? Why is he so silent? Haven't heard a single word from him.

Father of 3 young children, Paul Ryan's own father died when Paul was 16, of heart disease--as did his grandfather and his ggrandfather.  That is one of the reasons he is so self-disciplined, does P90X fitness workouts and keeps his body fat to a lean 6-8 %!  (He is 6'2" tall and weighs less than 165 lbs.) A little more about the man and his family: his background is truly "blue collar," he sleeps on his office sofa in D.C., and his former lawyer wife (now stay-at-home mom) was wearing a Kohl's floral dress the other day (marked down to $33!). The Ryans live in a very nice brick home in Paul's hometown of Janesville, WI, just across some woods from the home where Paul Ryan grew up. His wife Janna is from Oklahoma, and comes from a "blue dog" Democrat family. People of all political stripes admire and respect Paul Ryan for his intelligence, ability to clearly and readily articulate his policies, humility and bipartisanship. Did you read the delightful account of how Ryan was spirited away for the "announcement," under the very noses of the media who were dogging all the potential VP picks? His tax cuts for the rich enrich the rich at the expense of the poor and middle class without creating jobs or reducing our national debt and annual deficit or addressing social security and medical care. So his Horatio Alger bio translates into nothing for the 99%.

Paul Ryan is a traitor just like all the others. If you think he is a conservative, then you don't know the definition of conservative. If you think he is a good man, then you have never met one. If you think that he is a hero, then you are brainwashed by the mainstream media. Paul Ryan... -Voted YES on TARP -Voted YES on Economic Stimulus HR 5140 -Voted YES on $15B bailout for GM and Chrysler. -Voted YES on $192B additional anti-recession stimulus spending. -Voted YES on extending unemployment benefits from 39 weeks to 59 weeks. -Voted YES on Head Start Act -Voted YES on No Child Left Behind Act -Voted YES on federalizing rules for driver licenses to hinder terrorists. -Voted YES on making the PATRIOT Act permanent. -Voted YES on allowing electronic surveillance without a warrant. -Voted YES on authorizing military force in Iraq. -Voted YES on emergency $78B for war in Iraq & Afghanistan. -Voted YES on declaring Iraq part of War on Terror with no exit date. -Voted NO on redeploying US troops out of Iraq starting in 90 days YES CISPA YES to DOMA YES to NDAA And I'll promise you one thing for sure. After this man has served his time as VP he will have mysteriously accumulated hundreds of millions of dollars just as all self serving back door dealing scum do.
