Flintlock Road was closed Monday near the Fox Run development after a dead tree came down in high winds, taking power lines down with it. Emergency personnel at the scene Monday afternoon said power was lost to the surrounding neighborhood.
Fire Police had closed traffic for several hundred feet on either side of the tree, which lay smashed across the roadway. Emergency crew members on the scene also were cautioning pedestrians to avoid oil that had spilled from a transformer.
Wind gusts of up to 35 mph were forecast today. One crew member at the scene said a second dead tree nearby was being watched closely.
